Southern California

Thought I would post a few pics of the San Diego area. We don't surf, but I think it is so cool. If I were 30 years younger, I would love to be a beach bum. I love going to the shops and eateries around the beach. Always so much fun.

Even the dogs have their own beach.

I am getting a bit excited about our vacation. I have already gotten out my 3-1-1 items and even my swimsuit. I still haven't figured out what kind of head gear to wear for several hours in the desert. I am very fair skinned and can burn year round, so I have to be cautious.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend and is looking forward to an even greater week. I really need to clean up the studio, so I don't have that waiting for me when we return. That's what is on my agenda this week, and it probably means I will clean for a few minutes and then do art for a few hours. Cleaning the studio in this manner can be time consuming. By the way, it's been a while since I have seen pictures of your art spaces. I suppose summer sometimes keeps us away from our spaces, but fall arrives tomorrow, so get in there and get ready for holiday art and gift giving and all the wonderful things that we do in our studios this time of the year. (I should get an award for the length of that sentence).

One last thing, here is a shot of the current stage of my denim vest. It has evolved into a bit more than originally planned, but I am having fun working on it. Hope you like it.

With all that being said, I'll close for now and go fix homemade soup and sweet tea. Have a good evening and take care. Don't forget, we'll talk soon.

Bonjour Susan! Thanks for the good wishes for my sweet departed Mooli! Oh! To be a beach bum! That is what I was in my early 20s! I spent 4 winters in Jamaica, living here and there, painting signs for shops and restaurants to earn a living. I have a special souvenir drawer in my head, just for that period ... A little later, Francois and I spent 3 winters painting in a secluded spot in the Yucatan, in Mexico. Yep! I got myself some beach hobo blood in me! Love that denim jacket, Susan! Your trip will be fun!!! Have a great week! LuLu

I am getting excited for you! It's always good to change up the scene. Please take lots of pictures. I have never been to California, I have only made it as far as Colorado, so I will be one of those people looking forward to hearing all about it. I love what you are doing to the jacket. Lots of beading! Wow!

Oh, I hope you have a ball on your vacation. I love the progress on the denim! You are so talented. I have got to get my studio in order too... especially since fall is approaching. I will be doing more art downstairs rather than the sunroom :( sad, but true. You must share your recipe for Sweet Tea. I love McDonalds sweet tea!
