As you know, I usually post pictures of art that I have done. Today, I am proudly posting the pictures of art that my sweet husband has done.
Ta Da! He finished his studio workstation. You may remember the initial photograph that showed him out in the back yard starting on this project. Well, as you can see, he persevered. He designed, built, stained and polyurethaned the desk. I was really happy that he allowed me so much input, as this was his project, after all. I suggested the oak for the top, as well as the color of the stain. I gave him fine grit sandpaper and a tack cloth from my stash of supplies and I think I was even instrumental in him using foam brushes for the first time. He loved them.
While he was occupied with his desk, I had time to think of fun projects around the house. We had the perfect place in our dining room for a little reading nook. Yesterday I browsed around a bit on the World Wide Web and found a chair that reminded me of how much I like to rock. My Grandmother was a rocker and I always read and rocked when I was a teenager. I found one online that I liked, so we went to a local furniture store to see if they had something similar.
Once again...Ta Da!
It's a rocker and a glider combo. There were some that were just back-to-front level gliders, that I liked, but this one, is an actual rocker on a fulcrum type mechanism, as well as a glider. It takes very little movement to get that rocking motion. It is so cozy and comfy, and it's my favorite shade of green. We found the perfect lamp at Home Depot and now, after making sure all my chores are done, I'm going to chill out and read for a while.
I made several really nice pieces of jewelry this week, but I'll save those for the next post. Hope everyone is having a great week so far. Remember, as always, stay creative and enjoy yourself and we'll talk soon.

Congrats on your new rocker! It does look comfy :-)
What a bang up job that man of yours did on his studio area. It looks fantastic.
Now you girl, looks like you have the perfect cozy spot to huddle up with a 'rockin' book!!! It look fabulous sweetie!
God bless and have a gorgeous day enjoyin' your little corner of the world.
'Can't wait to see what lovelies you've created sweetie!!! :o)
Wow!!! Great job, Mr. Peachy!!!! He's daring too. I still won't use a foam brush.
I am a rocker/glider freak! I have rockers all over my home.
My mama bought one similar to yours. When we visit everyone fights over it. :> ) Did it come with the option of an ottoman? Pure heaven. ♥

Hey Peanut, Yes, there was an optional glider ottoman, but I have a hard enough time staying awake with my feet planted on the floor. Rocking is quite relaxing, isn't it?
The work station turned out great! It looks like everything important has a place.Just the way a work station should be! The rocker looks comfy, Enjoy!
Absolutely, Peachy.
Almost therapeutic.
:> )
The workstation is "killer" good! His studio is looking great. Really like the pull out extension in front..it looks nice and sturdy. I am not an oak fan but for this application it is perfect. Nice choice!!
Glad to see you have a rockin' corner....they are so comfy. I bought a new recliner that is great if one has cats because it slides on a yoke and has a separate foot stool instead of a flyout footrest! So I can definitely relate to having to keep the feet down, because I would likely go to sleep otherwise. I like your glider idea a lot and love the color. Now, a painting of a lady in such a rocking corner with a "golden cat" on her lap might be a good project....I'm not REALLY hinting....
wow! Impressive studio...wouldn't even know where to begin to do something like that...and it would probably be all lopsided and off color...good job! :D
**knock**knock**knock**
Is anybody home??
Where the heck are you, Peachy? :> )
