A few pictures to pass the time...

In between sprucing up the guest room for my favorite visitors, and crocheting a sweater, I am finding time to do a bit of flower arranging and decorating.

That antique lamp and dresser that belonged to your Grandmother will never go out of style...

and you can dress up any corner with some faux greenery...
as long as it's got red in it somewhere, I'm happy.

I gathered together some supplies...after a trip to Michael's, that is...

and not only put them to good use with the flowers that I dried from the funeral...

but even had enough left over to plant into some living houseplants for that touch of color...

and another little arrangement with a fake money plant...
As I mentioned, I'm currently working on a sweater for next winter and in an effort to remain productive (and get the thing finished) while I talk to Peri on the phone, I bought a headset...

and now not only I can crochet while we talk, I can make coffee and do my make up and whatever other multitasking thing I want to do.  Seriously though, my cordless phone is so small that I cannot hold it between my ear and shoulder like I used to in the olden days, so that leaves me only one hand.  Don't we always need both hands free while we are on the phone?  I've seen people make dinner, bake a cake and set the table while on the telephone.  Of course, back in those days, if you had a super long telephone cord, you were living in the lap of luxury.

Speaking of telephones, my grandmother, Ethel, was a talker.  She and her cronies would tongue wag all day long, while the rest of us were at work.  Calling home and getting a busy signal was a common occurrence back in those days.  How often do you get a busy signal these days?  Anyway, you know those GEICO commercials that show "happier than Paul Revere with a cell phone"  and "happier than a witch in a broom factory"...well, sister Peri and I have our own..."happier than Ethel with a headset". She would have been in gossip heaven.

Well, that's it for today.  I'm combining my acquisition of the headset with the April self portrait, so I hope you like it.

Take care and keep on keepin' on.

Love what you did with the greenery-very pretty and creative. Yes, I found the beauty of headsets about 5 yrs ago at my last job and now I don't want to live without one. My favorite use is (it's gross so don't read if you have a queasy stomach) cleaning the litter pan-UGH
I clean daily, hate doing it,
but it's so much better while talking to someone you love. ;-)

btw, I love red as well. As far as I am concerned a splash of red in everything works. :) Your hair looks adorable too. I am going to have to get me one of those telephone headsets. Looking good lady!!

Haven't blogged for a long time myself as last year was a crazy year, for teaching and learning all sorts of new things. this year I hope to calm down a bit, but we have decided to revive our doll making club, and so that will be a lot of work this year.
Ok I'm away, and hope that I can get back to you soon.
You have amazing spirit, as I said
