Happy Friday

Just a quick post to say hi and to wish you a weekend full of fun. Even though fall is in the air, the weather is still warm. I am still feeling the "settle in for the winter" hints that my pea brain keeps sending. I want to crochet, but my silly little ole elbow keeps hurting when I do. I guess I'll just not start any large projects until I figure out why.

This yarn is 100% sugar cane and is hand dyed in Chile by Araucania Yarns. Do a search for Ruca Multy if you are interested in it.

Small projects can be fun so I designed this little cuff bracelet, added some beads and a handmade polymer button. If you have a friend that can't wear jewelry because of metal sensitivities, this is the perfect solution. Can't wear wool, no problem, this yarn is made from sugar cane. This cuff is about two inches wide from the scalloped side to the straight side and can be made as long as you choose.

Can't crochet? Do the pictures in the books you have not make a bit of sense? Check out this YouTube tutorial that I found. There are lots of crochet videos on YouTube, but this one shows the exact way that I learned and so I'm figuring you can learn from it. Seriously, if you do want to learn to crochet, remember this, the foundation row of chain stitches and the first row of other stitches are usually the most difficult to do, so keep at it until you learn and try not to get frustrated. I've been crocheting for years, and I can still relate to the difficulties of getting started.

Well, that's it for me today. Have a great weekend

Call me a party pooper, but I'd rather swim! Oh, loving those pool blue colors but love as I may, the winter winds will come blowin' in cold nasty Ozark weather. I don't do winter well, did ya guess?

Ya'll have a great weekend and enjoy the warm while it lasts!!!

This is a precious litte bracelet/cuff. I have noticed that fabric/fiber jewelery is really in this year. I only know how to double crochet and I used to make so many baby blankets. I have started big afgans never to finish. But it is a soothing craft and I do enjoy....just never ventured past double . Have a good weekend and tell your elbow to stop it!

The colors are just beautiful! Perfect with jeans! You have been busy making all kinds of beautiful things. I just bought some bamboo yarn and can't wait to try it. I did not know about sugar cane!

Nice cuff and I love the sugar cane yarn, I have a bamboo jacket and it is wonderful and super soft.
Yes the store is only on line, sorry. I have been meaning to get back to you, sorry again. I will still answer, but my computer decided to die and I have to share with hubby and he is on his all of the time. It is difficult when you are writing a blog. Geesh!
Hey, good luck in the giveaway!

That bracelet is gorgeous. Really pretty.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment on my rudeness blog. I completely agree. So much on TV is just shouting matches. Even the kids shows are heavy on the sarcasm--pretty rude.
I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts, Susan!

P.S. Susan is that a Tennis elbow you have?
In other words a repeatitive injuy.I once had one. hurt even when at rest.
Just rest as much as you can.
Try cold water on it.
If it is a tennis elbow. (doesnt mean you have been playing too much tennis,) just doing too much of anything repeatitive, and have broken all the little fibers in the muscles and they have to heal, so take it easy gal.
Love from Doc E xxx

This is fun, it reminds me of the faux collars my mom's sister used to wear with sweaters. It is really cool. If you had a pair, it would make a neat faux shirt cuff under another shirt.
I love, love, love your jewelry!!!
Have a good night, Susan.
